Those Special Woods

I just wanted to make sure that the Woods know we really appreciate them being here.  They haven't made the webpage recently and I know that is not much encouragement for them!

MSIKA

Today we spent the morning at the Msika (outdoor market).  It is located "over the bridge" which is known as Indian Town simply because there are many Indian owned shops.

In 2003-04 we were warned against going there (after having to go there for our orientation).  It was known for robberies and we lived in fear of entering the area.  However, upon arrival this time we found out that several people know go there quite frequently - some of them women going by themselves.  It has either gotten safer or the stories were exagerated.

Woods in Malawi

In late January Vince, Robin, Patrick, and Michael Wood came to ABC to teach, filling in for Professor Stoms for a couple months this semester.  The Woods come from Mesa, Arizona where he pastors a PCA church.

Their adjustment has been quite amazing.  I always compare people to our own experience and I am quite amazed to see the speed of slipping into ministry here.  It took us 6 months the first time to have any sense at all of adjustment!

RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY

We have been praying and praying here and we know many people have at our request been praying and praying for rain for the Malawian people this year.

Now, please pray for it to stop!  Not entirely mind you!
